There are widespread misconceptions about poetry and slams that we are about to eradicate to recalibrate. In this workshop, we will realign our understanding of poetry and embrace its capacity for joy, celebration and reclaiming our voice. By the end of this workshop, you will have multiple new strategies to add to your creative repertoire; all of which are transferable into other creative practices. As well as an invitation to perform what might be your first ever poem, you will be welcomed into the Melbourne Spoken Word community and have a lightbulb moment of what this art form has to offer.
