Scott Limbrick
Scott is a writer and comedian. His short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in Electric Literature, Griffith Review, Going Down Swinging, Hobart, The Suburban Review, Westerly, Aniko Press, The Furphy Anthology 2022, Kill Your Darlings’ New Australian Fiction 2021 and others. His collection was shortlisted for the Richell Prize, and his stories have been shortlisted and longlisted for the Furphy Literary Award, the Commonwealth Short Story Prize, the Griffith Review Emerging Voices Competition, the Peter Carey Short Story Award, the Fair Australia Prize and the KSP Writers’ Centre Short Fiction Competition.
His non-fiction, essays, opinion and reviews have appeared in Meanjin, Overland, VICE, The New Statesman, Junkee, SBS, Voiceworks, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency and MTV. Scott has produced and presented videos for Comedy Central UK online, and some snippets of comedy have popped up on the BBC and ABC.
With Elyce Phillips, he produces and hosts ‘Great Speeches in History’, a live character comedy series. He has a Master of Screenwriting from the VCA and regularly performs improv and sketch around Melbourne. He’s also performed in multiple shows at Perth Fringe World, Melbourne Fringe Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, including Completely Improvised Survivor, the sketch show Waiting for Combo (“funny, quick-fire” – The Age) and his solo character show The Last Blockbuster on Earth (“A comical and nostalgic journey providing plenty of laughs” – Beat; “A fun, character-driven romp” – Funny Tonne).
